Neighborhood shops are getting more aggressive to engage their customers and keep in business. Yahoo! Small Business India provides them an important part of urban identity: a low-cost and low resource-intensive web presence.
A large section of these retailers are not computer or internet savvy. Y! planned to take the service to their doorsteps through channel partners and the product UI covered lead tracking, domain booking, template sites and locals listing.
The foremost section is the URL Search section, to get to a suitable unique URL quickly - with suggestions. Once confirmed the product flow is directed based on their preferred payment method - which includes scratch cards, cash or cheque pickup and credit card options etc. The interface for resellers to purchase credit and manage selling and payments across different employee cadres were also worked out.
The visual style was simple and illustrated to communicate the value directly to small business owners. The flow of the product was planned for ‘quick user success’ – the SMB is ready with a interim website really quick after purchase, automatically generated using the business details and contact information.
RESELLER SECTIONS // Reseller sections are easy to search/ filter. A small relevant dashboard information on the left is also used as primary navigation, which alerts the reseller employees to the relevant sections thereby reducing turnaround time.
