Home sweet homepage for folks and family.

The urban Indian is going global. MIH (ibibo) recognized the need to reconnect families using the internet. From family trees to memories to pictures to matrimony, this product was designed to have it all. Dig reviewed and refined the interaction experience, defined and coded the visual design and came up with the right (and available!) product name, onefamily.com.
Check Onefamily.

STRUCTURE // Dig worked the product architecture with plenty of cross navigation linking to push the latest activity from other sections within the family circle. The new architecture and navigation had to keep in mind the upcoming feature-rich product versions. The home page was planned to provide latest streams and updates from the family network as well as make way for easy 1on1 interactions.

VISUAL DESIGN // Dig created a few approaches for the visual design of OneFamily site. The final visual design of the site was selected after review and feedback by focus groups of target users. The 2.0 design language was an instant hit, which was just teething at the time; the clean layouts and chunky rounded buttons came to stay.

DETAILS// A large part of the design focus was to decide and communicate the multiple security options of the product and iterate based on how it would affect the user interactions. Design details helped chunk the network into real life groups such as close near & dear ones, extended family, and public - all of which can be decided by the users. This way the product helped users understand and monitor how their activity was being dispersed through the system.
